Fighting on Every Front

Advocate: Make Your Voice Heard

As many of our supporters know, one of the things that makes the ALS Association special is that it is the only national nonprofit fighting the disease on every front - supporting cutting edge research, enhancing access to clinical care, and promoting better public policies. The Alabama Chapter is part of a nation wide network compromised of one team with a single mission: to discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate for, and empower people with ALS to live their lives to the fullest.

The only way we will realize our vision of a world without ALS is to make sure that all of these parts are fully integrated and working together. The Alabama Chapter is fortunate to have stakeholders advocate for ALS both nationally and locally.  Every day, policymakers at all levels of government are making decisions that could affect funding for ALS research and programs that serve people living with ALS. It is time to mobilize and come together stronger than ever to make our voices heard at the Alabama State Capitol. Our goal it to educate policymakers and the public, and to drive toward smart decisions about ALS related research, treatment, and access to care.
