2018 Changing the Game
Come join us as our keynote organization The NFL Retired Players Association Alabama Chapter takes the field (stage) to tackle ALS
Presenting the 2018 Spirit of Lou Gehrig Award to the champions who fight the battle against ALS.
Changing the Game will have two keynotes: Marty Lyons (Alabama, NY Jets) will serve as the keynote speaker and the NFL Retired Players Association Alabama Chapter is the keynote organization. Bobby Humphrey will serve as the ALS Event Ambassador. In keeping with ALS's theme “Changing the Game,” the keynote organization will take the field/stage and invite everyone to join them as they work together to “defeat ALS.” This year, we are honored to present- Team ALS!- a stellar group of retired professional football players from our state who collectively make the clarion call!
Team ALS-Alabama is comprised of Marty Lyons (Coach), Joe Cribbs (Team Captain, President of the Alabama NFL RPA), Kerry Goode (Team MVP) and a starting line-up of Cornelius Bennett, Jason Campbell, Terry Henley, Trent Richardson, Rich Wingo, Antonio Langham, Chris Goode, Chad Jackson, Chris Wood, Blake Sims and Richard T. Davis. The event host/sportscaster, Jamie Langley Henderson (Miss Alabama 2007) will give a running commentary throughout the program on the need to increase awareness and support for ALS as a way of “Changing the Game.” The highlight of the evening will be the honoree awards ceremony in recognition of Bryan Bonds and the Caregivers for a Cure!
